You should be able to use the same Subject Profile within a new version of the same schema.
Your first screenshot already shows an error message of the Active schema. I don't see the details of that message in the picture, but you need to make sure that error is cleaned up before having a new version I'm sure.
Your 3rd and 4th screenshots point to something else though. You should not have a different number of versions if you are actually looking at the same schema. Your 3rd screenshot shows three versions and your 4th screenshot shows four pages of versions. This leads me to believe that these are not actually the same schema and thus your error.

I stand corrected, you were just on a different page of the versions. You should still look to see what the error of your current active schema is.
